The Vineyards
The farm, Querciagrossa, has an extension of approximately 40 hectares, 7 hectares of which are vineyards.  The vineyard is composed of: Merlot 65%, Sangiovese 30% and a small part in Syrah.  The vineyards are situated in the municipality of Cortona, in the locality of Farneta and Cignano, situated on soft hills facing southeast at an altitude of 300 m.a.s.l.  The situation of the vineyards confers an optimal solar position and the most favourable ventilation.  The first production (year 2003) was of 1,300 bottles. The company proposes to continue the artisan production, putting up the number of bottles to 5,000 per year by 2009.
