Art. 2. Ampelography
The wines from controlled place of origin ‘Cortona’ have to be obtained from grapes produced by vineyards having, in the business field, the following ampelography:
"Cortona" Rosato:
Sangiovese: from 40% to 60%; Canaiolo Nero: from 10% to 30%, coming together alone or joined, for the production of the said wine; grapes originated from other vines, with berries of similar colour, non-aromatic, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 30%.
"Cortona" Chardonnay:
Chardonnay: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
"Cortona" Grechetto:
Grechetto: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
"Cortona" Pinot Bianco:
Pinot Bianco: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
"Cortona" Riesling Italico:
Riesling Italico: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
"Cortona" Sauvignon:
Sauvignon: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
"Cortona" Cabernet Sauvignon:
Cabernet Sauvignon: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
"Cortona" Gamay:
Gamay: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
"Cortona" Merlot:
Merlot: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
"Cortona" Pinot Nero:
Pinot Nero: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
"Cortona" Sangiovese:
Sangiovese: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
"Cortona" Syrah :
Syrah: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
"Cortona" Vin Santo e Vin Santo riserva:
Tuscan Trebbiano, Grechetto and Malvasia Bianca Lunga: jointly or alone, minimum 80%, grapes from other vines, having white berries, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 20%.
"Cortona" Vin Santo Occhio di Pernice:
Sangiovese, Malvasia Nera: jointly or alone, minimum 80%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 20%.
